The Virgin Suicides

I caught this movie the other night when it came on one of the extra channels we are getting, HBO or Shotime or something like that. It really freaked me out the similarities between the girls' household and the one I was brought up in as a Witness. They never mention what religion the parents are, but there is even a scene where the mother is making the girls burn their records because music is evil. Has anyone else caught this movie? What'd you think?

I've been really loving the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. I like all their stuff especially their raw early stuff. I've been entranced again by the song Hello Darlin, which has been stuck in my head for about a month now. Same with Chances Are by Johnny Mathis. I have been trying to find out what this Simple Minds song is called for quite a while, to no avail. A few people have suggested "I Travel" - but its not that. Anyone got a better idea?

I've just started watching this show on dvd, and already I think I'm becoming obessesed with it, ha ha. Since it's from the UK and we have alot of posters from there, I thought I'd make a post to see if there are any other fans, or people with a comment on the show (good, bad, neutral, other).

I know this show has been on for awhile now, but I just started watching it this weekend from Season 1.

It's so good! Very addictive.

I much prefer to watch shows once they are already done and on DVD or whole seasons are online. No wait time, and I don't have to worry about missing a week.

Anyhow...any other fans here?

I went to see this last night. I've seen some of his other movies (Sicko, Fahrenheit 9/11) and I like some aspects of his filmmaking... I think that he brings a lot of really relevant subjects into terms that the general public can understand, although I don't like it when does very obvious appeals to emotion.

The movie starts out showing foreclosures by the bank on homeowners. Although having lived in Canada previously for my whole life, and having the States as a next door...

It's pretty much my new favorite show, even though it's extremely stereotypical highschool drama and overacted characters at some points... The music is fun and the idea is fun!

First off, great acting... DEEEEEP layered subplots, and it appealed to me as a former JW.

I esp want to comment about 2. This whole Village he made was designed to help people with problems to "heal".

6 wants freedom, not a template of, dare I say, paradise. But in the end, he stays, to help people, in a way that shall we say, is off the beaten path.

I didn't think that the ending episode in particular explained everything very cogently, but at the...

Being raised a JW, scary movies were a big no-no. So of course I try to watch every single one that comes out now. This one was awesome! It started out kinda lame and slow. I watch a lot of the ghost hunting type shows that come on television and to start with this seems like it is just going to be a long version of the television shows but it gets much better. I won't tell you anything so as to spoil it but if you get the chance i definitely recomend this one. If you like scary...

Not an incredibly funny movie, could've had some better editing, but all in all, a good fun zombie flick, right up there with Idle Hands.
