Did anyone ever witness in school and/or work?

I was just reminded of the circuit and district assembleies where they would have those scripted interviews or "experiences" of people 'giving a good witness' at school or in the workplace.

Aside from those experiences (which could be fake), I have never in my life seen a classmate or co-worker witnessing. Even the most goodie two shoes witness kids didn't open their mouths at school - unless asked. Even so, the answers was very short and quiet. They only...

What does "apostate" actually mean?

Hi

I was a regular pioneer for years and my husband was an MS and I'm still wondering what that word actually means to the WTBTS. I have heard countless talks and read countless articles about how it's wrong to read apostate literature or go to apostate websites. But I'm still unclear about some things and have always been afraid to ask. Are there grey areas or is the Society's policy clear about this?...

I used to wonder why it was so wrong to have our kids believe in a Santa Claus when they were allowed to believe in Big Bird from Sesame Street. My favorite thing to do was hold my breath. There was a clock at the side of the hall that I could see, so I would try to hold my breath as long as I could and break my old in-hall records. I actually asked my parents this same question, and my mom used to hold her breath too. I guess when you are incredibly bored, anything is worth a shot if it will pass time.

Besides sex, drugs and rock and roll, one thing I enjoy doing now that I'm not in the BORG is volunteering (shelters, schools, etc). Even when I was a kid, I never understood how we could just walk over homeless people during street work, stuff a magazine in their shopping cart and just walk away. I guess the true would keep them warm, LOL. We would go to convalescent hospitals to beat the TRUTH into 90 year old people who were lonely and just needed a friend. I guess we had to get them...
