Just wanted to let you know that our chat room is now working.
The only down side is that it still needs more maintenence work in order for the number of users to show up that are in the room.

So, there may be people in chat but people would have to pop in to check...
That's how it stands as of the moment (11/25/09)
Not sure how long the maintenence will take but shouldn't be for any extended or unusually long period I don't imagine.

Just trying out a small experiment as yuku lets us add random quotes to the top of the main board.
Undergoing a trial run here and if most people agree to liking having the feature active, we can keep it going.

If anyone has favorite quotes they really want added, you can send me a pm or else post it here... thanks..

Hi all---

I wanted to share some great news with everyone...

As most know, I've been the only admin. on the site since the board's startup back in March of 2004. I've enjoyed most of the things I've done in the admin. position, but it seemed the right time to also ask for some help with it also.

I am having to make sure that my focus doesn't get too much off my future and...

filter revisited..

I know the other day we had a post on the accouncements board regarding putting a profanity filter in.
I wanted to let you all know that the plan is scrapped for now (in case any were wondering...)

One big reason is that the filter yuku had was filtering out 100 percent of the word instead of just a couple of letters in the word. So, it was not exactly working like I hoped...

Also, another big reason is that it is not a problem for the vast majority of posters and...

Just as a quick mention, there are plenty of features that yuku has and the better ones I will try to mention...

One is the blog feature.
I know there are a couple of people at least interested in that.
To activate it, you will see an icon in the very upper right hand corner of the main screen called 'navigation'. You click on the navigation icon and then you will see next an 'edit layout' icon. That is where you can activate an individual blog for...

I want to thank everyone for your patience as what I really hope are the last changes are finished for this site update project.
We had as everyone knows the announcements board combined with the technical help and suggestion box board.
It seemed like it was easier this way to break the annoucements section off from the other and easier to see things and I guess manage in general.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say thank you for the patience as whatever in construction...

Just so everyone is aware---

Our site here doesn't place a great deal of importance at all on grammer, punctuation, or spelling.
As long as it is in the ballpark, it is fine.
Not many of us, including myself, could stand up to scrutiny on our English---especially if we make frequent or semi-frequent posts.

There is always a spellchecker that you can use if you wish.

The whole idea is just about thoughts and ideas and showing respect for other fellow...

'report post' feature

As a supplement to help the site, there is now added a 'report post' feature located in every post.

Directly below each post author's avatar, you will see 3 small icons. The first icon says 'reply', the second says 'quote'; and the last icon says 'more'.

To report a post:

1.) Identify the post that you wish to report that is in violation of the forum guidelines.
2.) Look under the post author's avatar for the icon...

We have two private "membership by approval" (or MBA) boards at the site here...

The first is the Sex and Relationships-- Discussion Only-- board. It is available to any registered members that have at least 20 posts on the site. To gain admission to it, simply click on the board title and fill in the short "request for access" form that will pop up. Your request will then be reviewed and in most all cases approved within 48 hours or...

networking / 'share this' icon feature now available

We now have a new site feature now available that you are welcome to use anytime....

It's called the 'share this' icon and it located both in the upper right hand side of the main screen and lower right hand side.

If you click on it, it will let you share our site with any friends you may have on facebook, Digg, del.icio.us. Also on the list are Blogger, yahoo Myweb, and just plain email to a friend.

I hope people like it...

word filter

Hi all,

As you all know by now, we don't have a word filter (and have no plans to start one). When we started up, everyone voted to let people use whatever language they wanted to. I like that format and plan on keeping it. But, please remember to use it with your best judgement. A post that has 4 letter words sprinkled in it from time to time I don't think would bother anyone. Just try to watch out for posts that have every other word be that way.
It's a relaxed...

1.) More emoticons have been added to what we had. I think we are up around 150 emoticons, but I am still looking for several. If you find a particuliar good one you like a whole lot, pm or email me the URL and I will be glad to add it.

ad-free status update

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, we of course are continuing being an advertisement free community here (thanks to everyone's donations). There however might be a slight transition you will notice sometime on Monday. That is when the ezboard funds end and the yuku fund account activates.

Hopefully that transition will go smooth and you won't have to see any pop-up ads at all. If there are any though, it should be for just part of a day.
