Hi everyone, I'm currently attending school and I'm seeking to apply for financial aid for the upcoming semester. Because of my age, the federal government still considers me a "dependent" student and requires that my parents contribute to my educational expenses. I currently live on my own and support myself financially. However, in order to receive financial aid for school, I need two letters - one professional (with the profession indicated on the letterhead), and one additional reference - explaining my situation. My parents have no dealings with me whatsoever; I've essentially been disowned (and, I suppose there's no reason to believe that I haven't already been legally disowned). I would just like to know if anyone here would be willing to provide their own brief note or letter explaining the disfellowshipping process and why that could in some circumstances lead to children being totally abandoned by their parents. I understand that not all parents would decide to completely cut their children off, but mine have chosen to do that. If you think that you would be able to do this or have any questions, just let me know through a private message. Thanks, all, and take care.
