Well, we don't have an IMAX either in this town....lol
My city is only 85,000 people, but I like it.... But I am definitely going to see it. Considering I don't often
make it to the theatre (due to cost of tickets & popcorn plus time...lol) I am looking forward to it.
Of the Batman movies, I have liked one or two is all. I keep on coming back for more though... It helps that the Joker is the villan.
The ones that had Mr. Freeze and the Penguin were flops imo.. |

Ok, I just came back from seeing the movie, and it was amazing!!
They really went all out for this one. Heath Ledger absolutely stole every scene he was in (RIP Heath). I saw it at the IMAX and it was a packed house. It was so much fun to watch. The audience clapped, gasped, and laughed. It was sooooo much fun. You gotta go see it now!

I am seeing it in about an hour
FWIW roles Christian Bale has been better in than Batman are American Psycho The Machinist The Prestige (also directed by Nolan) Rescue Dawn THose are his best movies we will ignore Reign of Fire and Shaft in this discussion ha ha

Reign of Fire was teh awesome! Matthew walked around without a shirt most of the time, and the fight between the two when they're both shirtless? *faints*

That's a really good list tetsuojackson.
I would like to add Equilibrium to the favorites list. I didn't really like Shaft either, but I still thought Christian Bale was really good in it though. But I have to agree with hoochi mama, Reign of Fire was really good in my opinion. Especially that shirtless scene where he is cleaning his wounds.
My favorites of Christian Bale are: American Psycho Equilibrium Batman Begins / The Dark Knight The Machinist Reign of Fire The Prestige Harsh Times Newsies Terminator 4 (ok, its a bit early to add to the list, but i'm sure he's gonna be awesome in it)

Matthew was pretty awesome in Reign but the story was horrid.
Sadly Harsh Times is one my movie I can't watch again it takes me to a bad place reminds me a bit too much of my past If you guys haven't seen Rescue Dawn that might be Bales best work! OK so I saw Dark Knight, I think plot wise I liked Begins better by a bit. Heath Ledger though is amazing. Just amazing. Shame he can't reprise this role. The one thing that bugged me about this movie was they were heavy handed in belabouring the point of morality and that things aren't black and white. While I realize that that is part of the Batman story they laid it on too thick IMHO, I still give it 4 stars though for sure.

Oh and I like Equilibrium it is enjoyable as a movie but his acting in it didn't wow me it seemed a very pedestrian role for him. It was a fun movie just
the acting wasn't like it is in Rescue Dawn or Machinist

Edited to Add:
When I saw Batman today, the local news crew was there (Fox 7) filming and talking to people waiting in line to be seated. They panned the camera up and down the line, including where I was standing. When I watched the news tonight, there I was on TV. It feels weird to see yourself on TV.

I saw it last night and thought it was GREAT!
Although ... it was only given a '12' rating here in the UK. If I'd have watched that when I was 12 years old, then Ledger's wonderfully psychotic Joker combined with the 'Terminator-style' make-up they used for Two Face would have given me nightmares (or 'Knightmares' ... geddit?!) for weeks! Still, I always was a sensitive child ...

I watched it today, I wasn't impressed. Might have been better though if I'd seen it in a theater.
