An interesting fact that not many people know about is that Christmas celebration is also related to pagan (one who is not a Christian, Muslim or Jew) celebration besides being connected with the story of Jesus' birth. Most people can agree that celebration at this time of year has to do with the time of the season, and specifically the shortest day of the year (the winter solstice), but the celebrations of Christmas most likely originate or merge with worship of the Sun, long times ago. The story of Santa Claus is pagan, it's not directly related to Christianity, Judaism, or Muslim faith.

It's really interesting, to see what people have traditionally done in different times and what they currently do today in different places. No matter what your reason for celebrating, it's a good time to stay indoors with friends and loved ones and to eat well and be merry.
