It's really interesting, to see what people have traditionally done in different times and what they currently do today in different places. No matter what your reason for celebrating, it's a good time to stay indoors with friends and loved ones and to eat well and be merry.

I couldnt agree more Mig. It is so unhappy being a witness... even if they would have let you celebrate holidays most of your "unapproved" family couldnt even be there. How stupid. Just like eternity was put into our hearts, I feel that celebration has been put there too. For thousands of years humans have been celebrating something or another durning "winter solstice". I think they don't let us have any fun as someform of creepy control.

This christmas we wern't able to go all out, some for the fact I didnt really know what to do, also my hubby wasnt entirley comfortable with it at first. The most important part, I think, was that I was able to let my son have fun at school. That was bothering my conscience. Knowing in my heart this religion is a bunch of baloney and making my 5 year old go to school and make a "religious stand" was too much. So that part is out of the way.... at my bank they have a christmas account where you can put money into it all year... they wont let you take any out until November when they give you a check. So i think I am giong to plan to have an actual christmas next year.

Oh and today, being the 25th, my son was wondering what we are supposed to be doing on christmas. My hubby said he felt bad we hadnt done more. !!! So I think he might be coming around to it, little by little.
