If i make a mistake I correct it. It feels really good to be in control of our own lives.

Amber, JW's make such a big deal about sin and mistakes, as many religions do. No matter where you stand on it, it is very liberating to know that "to err is human, to forgive is divine."

I use to hate admitting that I goofed, because there was always an elder ranked higher that would call it out. JW's are taught to counsel, and that everyone should be used to it over time, like tenderized meat.

Mistakes, which are often subjective and contextual, get a bad rap. They aren't always a reflection of the person, its just a reflection of where you are at a given time, a portrait. Ditto good decisions.

I remember many a JW friends that did care for those who were having problems. However, institutionally, JW's are allowed to care about those with trouble to the extent it doesn't interfere with the Governing Body's goals of preaching, literature distribution, and indoctrination. If there is time after, take care of the widows and orphans, after the other work is done.
