Hey Tracy,

I've had the same thing said to me but not about saying Sorry, it was about saying thank you. I was taught to say please and thank you any time someone does something for me. I've taught my kids the same thing, and I'm proud when they visit a friend and the parents comment on this when I go pick them up.

We hadn't been married for long when my husband and I were having dinner and I asked him to please pass the salt and then said thank you when he did. He said 'are you gonna thank me everytime I pass you something' as if it was beginning to annoy him. Well I was brought up that way and I still do it, it's in my nature. I make a conscious effort, when we go out to eat for example, to wait till the waitress has put everything on the table before saying thank you, otherwise it's wierd...she puts the knife and fork, I thank her, then the drink...another thank you...etc. I make sure to do it only once each time she comes to our table. I do think it's wierd that I have to stop myself though.
