Well every congregation has that one brother who's a little off mentally. Our congo had a brother who was a sex offender. I found this out because I got bored one night and wanted to see if there was anyone that lived near us that was registered. Yeah... he lives down the street from us. I asked my Dad if the sisters with little kids knew and he said "no but we keep in eye on it." Yep. That's his official response. I'll tell you right now, if I had a 10 year old boy or girl that I was letting go to the bathroom by themself during the meeting, I would be absolutely LIVID if the elders knew but didn't tell me and I found out. That's beyond ridiculous in my book.

Then there was Sister Thompson. She was, in my opinion, a self righteous over zealous jackass who acted like she had more zeal than she really did. You know how we were all supposed to Witness at literally EVERY opportunity? She ACTUALLY did that. Yep. A few of the sisters had one of those jewelry parties at their house. Sis. Thompson witnessed to the worldly lady who was running it. Even my MOM said that it was a little excessive in that situation. This sister decided to take it upon herself to write every family who had a loved one listed in the obituary which made me sick even when I was in the Borg. My Dad thought it was "her business," I said then and still say now that if anything makes them look like idiots and jerks that would be it. Sis. Thompson got a few nasty letters and got so excited because it was "persecution." I always found that comical.

Just to top it off, she tried to butt in on our family's personal business. She didn't think my Grandma should be driving and one day after the Meeting she voiced this to ME, in a yelling self righteous tone. For the record my Grandma is 86 and missing a few screws, but her driving is actually very good. Anyways, at that point I was on my way out of the organization and so I told her straight up "I'm sorry did you just volunteer to give her rides? I'm sure you could afford it given that your worldly husband won the lotto TWICE." That didn't sit well. If my Dad wasn't the PO I'm sure I would've gotten some counsel for that, because a lot of people saw it. Or maybe I just said what was on everyone elses minds. But yeah, I always avoided this woman like the plague. One time she told me that my gum chewing distracted her during the meetings. You can't make this lady up I swear to God. I could onnnnn and onnnnnn.......
