That's because the more spiritual you are, the more hypocritical you become and the more black and white the issues are to that person. I think that a lot of spiritual people are self conscious about their secret lives and they go out in the ministry more to try to regain God's favor. They think they can always do more. The sister who yelled at me about my Grandma, I would be willing to bet that she feels horrible about the fact that her and her husband don't have to work because they have one the "win for life" lottery like three times. One of the pioneer sisters in our congregation, Connie, is the biggest bitch I've ever met... and trust me that's saying something. She thinks she's such hot stuff, but I bet she's insecure about something deep down inside so she hides it by doing more, thinking that will make it go away but it doesn't so she becomes highly judgmental. My Dad has even said that Connie has offended a LOT of people in the congregation. My Mom's friend Ann is the same way, she told my Mom that they needed to kick me out if I refused to go to the meetings. My Mom told me that Ann said that, and I told my Mom to basically tell Ann that she could suck a big one and mind her own damn business because she's no saint, she, among other things, married an unbeliever.

The hypocrites are the biggest judges because judging others negatively makes them feel better about their own shortcomings. It's so sick and twisted.. and such a classic Borg situation.
