It professes to belong to Jehovah, but is it actually the opposite?

Who [or what] actually IS Jehovah anyway?

The author of this book would tell you that the WTBS does belong to Jehovah, and that if there's a riddle to be solved, it's a riddle which concerns 'bible-god's' true identity..... rather than a riddle which points to any [particular] modern day church which derives a spiritual power-base by rendering posthumous attentiveness to the assorted dysfunctional 'moods' of the Old Testament Hebrew 'god.'

I hesitate to post this, but it is a concept I have long wondered about. I do not mean to scare anyone, and I must admit, this idea is enough to get the hair on the back of my neck sticking up straight, and to get the goosebumps at high alert, and increase the sensation that I am being watched and someone is standing over my shoulder...

I wouldn't worry too much about it......honestly.

Have a slice of age-old 'Gnostic' thought, and see how it sits.

The Gnostics formed one of the three main groups within the early Christian movement. They believed in a very remote and unknowable High God. An angel of Wisdom, called Sophia, gave birth to the Demiurge (Lower God). The latter God, referred to as Jehovah in the Hebrew Scripture, was seen as an inferior God who was unaware of the existence of the High God and of his own mother Sophia. Jehovah created the earth, universe and human life. But his creation was defective. As a result, our life on earth is in a form of Hell. Jesus came to earth to convey Gnosis (specialized knowledge) in order to unravel the mischief of the Demiurge (Jehovah} and help restore humanity to it's divine origins.

Anyway, your......WTBS as antichrist postulation........ needs to be weighed against this would you not agree?

The WTBS are extremely devoted and loyal to the 'god' they worship.

The only problem is, the 'god' they worship isn't really worthy of worship.....even if he did actually create the earth, us and even the very universe itself.

WTBS thoughtform agrees with the notion that just being a creator [alone] means you're worthy of 'worship' and funnily enough.....that's what the Demiurge (Jehovah) mistakenly believes also.

Because he's been isolated from the 'big picture' for aeons ....the Demiurge seriously believes he's the only 'god'.....or at least he seriously believes he should be...[which in effect, amounts to the same thing.]

The WTBS....who are cast very much in the same mould as the 'god' they worship.....merely mimic that narrow attitude, and they heavily reference the attitude of the Old Testament 'god' in order to validate it.

That doesn't make them the antichrist per se.....but it does make for a rather dysfunctional religious movement which appeals to many of the more judgemental... self-important and self-righteous folk within human society.

As Sharon [whytebyrd2] accurately observed however....these considerations are only relevant if one believes that the bible, and the metaphysical personalities it portrays are actually 'real' and in some way influential in a modern day context.

I've posted a link about 'Jehovah' being unmasked, not necessarily because I think this is what needs to happen.

I generally think it's 'people' who need to be unmasked, but in order to unmask people, you first need to unmask that which they 'worship' and hold as their highest authority.

You can generally unmask religious 'organisations' the same way, because these too are made up of people.

Is the WTBS the antichrist?

The 'shock' you sense just by entertaining that very notion is understandable.

It's only shocking however if you once used to hold them in the highest spiritual esteem.

They might be God's chosen people.....OR.....they could well be the antichrist.

What might be even more shocking [by far]...is the possibility that 'spiritually'....they're really just a bunch of nobodies.

It's one thing being suckered by the antichrist.....[fair game]......but to be suckered by a disingenuous and manipulative publishing corporation would be even more embarrassing.....would it not?

One of the cerebral legacies of having been a Jehovah's Witness, is the tendency to still think in terms of black or white 'extremes.'

Even when we're out of it, we cannot resist the tendency to classify things and try to pigeon-hole them within a modified world-view.

If we begin to believe that the motivating 'force' behind our former faith wasn't really as divine as it claimed to be..... then this opens the way to the notion that it may well have actually been diabolical in nature.

Sometimes it's healthy to just pause and place ourselves [and our own motives] under the same kind of forensic scrutiny.

Knowing ourselves better, will surely help us to gauge what we can expect.... [and should tolerate]..... from the 'gods.'
