I know of more than one case where the elders told the victim/victim's parents that if they told others in the hall they would be reproved.

My mother was told this when she and her sisters came forward to accuse their step-father. She was concerned for the little girls in his hall, but was told she couldn't say anything. image After the bastard moved to a new hall, mom heard that he was being made an ms. She called the brothers in his new hall and found out they didn't know about his past, even though he had been reproved and restricted in his old hall.

His new elders "handled it" by not making him an ms, and told my mom she shouldn't concern herself with the actions of others.. basically to mind her own business! image
