Worse elder experience? Hmm... there are a few, almost all of them, as an elder.

I was part of a JC that as soon as the person left the room headed towards DFing. Thank goodness, the other elder said "I think I'm seeing some mental imbalance here, not an issue with lack of repentance". I was a pretty new elder so I didn't speak until last, but agreed DFing was the wrong way to go. This all eventually wound up in private reproof, but is really shocked me how how fickle the system could be.

I watched as one of our elders made it his aim to delete one of the MSs he didn't like, "because he was a pompous old man". Watching this go down with a vicious sort of nastiness that was the furthest thing from "Christianity" was shocking.

My first elder's meeting as an elder, I basically told to mind my own business as other elders engaged in a pursuit of one of the MSs over song lyrics he produced (I wouldn't even be told the exact "offensive" lyrics).

Lest you think it was all bad, I must conclude by saying I did see elders worked hard for the congregation, often doing rather thankless jobs. In the end, they're just men, doing what they do, some good, some bad, but entirely under a load of mental delusion about being "appointed by God's holy spirit".

Cheers,
