I used to think that the jw mind set "to leave is to die" was exclusive to them.  They seem to honestly believe that if you leave the jw's, you will become an immoral degenerate, doing drugs, getting diseases, lying, stealing, whoring, etc. etc.  I now realise that the jw's are not alone.  Thanks to one member of our board, I now realise that Theists in general seem to think like that.  To not believe in god means you must be an immoral degenerate.  The fact that many Atheists lead moral lives has no impact on their thinking.

Maybe I am wrong, maybe this thinking is reserved for the zealots of any belief system and the general populous is a little more relaxed in their thought processes, a little more open to new ideas, a little more accepting of those who believe differently than they do, giving a little more credit to their fellow humans ability to be a good person with or without religion.

I'm glad my kids won't be raised with such a narrow slant on real life

Ditto!!

I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet.   So it's rather presumptuous of me to post on this thread, but the sound doesn't work on this laptop.  Maybe I can watch it later on my pc.
