Javeca,

I totally understand where you are coming from regarding Atheists not being unified or agreeing on anything much between themselves besides a general rejection of Gods as "put forth by men". I have no reason to believe what my fellow man tells me about God. After having conversations with my fellow atheists, this seems to be the only point on which we agree, but we also understand its the only sticking point that we feel a level of certainty about, everything else it theory and conjecture.

At the same time, I can tell you I have read a number of works by prominent theists. To turn your phrase back on you...

"To be honest, even THEISTS aren't consistent as to what a THEIST should be. They will gladly tell you what it is, but not what it isn't, and even there the THEISTS don't agree what THEISM is and get more than a little uneccessarily authorititative when challenged about their own personal views on what God actually is.

I guess I will just have to throw out any definition of THEISM because from what everyone THEIST has ever told me, somebody else's definition of THEISM is wrong. So what we are left with, in my opinion, is a group of people who readily accept the man-made definition that works for them, and then outwardly say what they actually believe while using ad hominem attacks in an attempt to discredit any other viewpoint that could challenge their personal views on God.

So from my point of view, all any THEIST is doing is wasting my time."

It works both ways man, you want to know what an Atheist believes? fine.

I am a Modern Taoist. I believe in natural laws that govern the universe and that it just IS, I dont need a spiritual explanation for why those rules are there but they are consistent through the known universe so that is just the way it is. Arguing why we dont all stand on our heads and live in a friction-free universe would be silly. Gravity, laws of attraction, Mass Effect, the basic building blocks of carbon that can be pulled apart and rearranged as needed, much like Legos... I do not think that the existence of natural laws of science point to evidence of being created, the laws exist because they need to, at some universal level those 'laws' that govern natural existence needed to exist and so they do.

The same laws that govern physics and science also govern a more spiritualized part of existence, the 'life-force energy' of all living things. Much like how our bodies composed of complex carbons return back to basic carbons when decomposed over time, the "Soul" returns to where it is that souls go, returns to its basic form until it is reconstituted and used to power some other creature. Where does it go? Science has no way to measure it yet, its not something we can immediately see or that science can measure, the life-force of a living creature, but it doesnt mean it doesnt exist..the same laws of science that govern all known energy and matter govern Life-Force Energy as well...I have no reason to think they dont.

Much like science, for everything you do, there is an equal or greater reaction. I think that what I do in this life will have an equal or greater reaction in my next, however that existence might be. Overall, I would say there is infinitely more evidence in nature and 'creation' of ReIncarnation than there is of having our immortal souls live with Sky Daddy at the end of our life cycles. This is my own personal understanding after my own study and being able to draw my own conclusions from looking within for the answers I seek. This is the belief that resonates with me personally and I feel strongly is correct. Arguing about how I feel is completely pointless though, its just how *I* believe. I can't prove any of it and ultimately Jav, neither can you. I have no more reason to believe the Apostle John/Peter/Thomas/Matthew etc etc than to believe you, after all, you're just men and its all just like, your opinion man!

I think both sides of the argument need to take deep breaths and stop throwing around so many 'absolutes' and 'generalizations'.
