I think the basic policy that women are not allowed any position of responsbility in the congregation.

Women can not be ministerial servants, elders, circuit or district overseers.
They are not allowed to be on the governing body.
They can't run mikes, hand out literature or count the money from the contribution box.
They have to wear a head covering if standing in for a brother's position.
They can't give talks at any of the meetings or conventions.
They can't serve on any committees.

The fact that if a woman does not scream while being raped then it's not considered rape.

All of this plus more stuff I can't think of right now says they're second class
and not equal to the men in the organization.

Can't add much more to what Mel outlined for you Amy.     From my experience with the JW organisation  ... women were encouraged to study, door knock, give talks and of course to be good christian wives.    Almost like the old 'bare foot, pregnant and in the kitchen' with a few extras.      I was told many a time that I was 'too vocal' to be a good christian wife ... which was fine by me as I never intended on staying in the borg nor marrying a JW.
