it does sound like you're making headway...I think she just might come around if you keep doing what you're doing
I do think you are making some progress
Thanks, I hope so, but if it does happen, I think it'll take quite a long time. She is quite reasonable for a JW, and will do research outside of the society's publications. Of course, the problem is, she is only looking for things that validate her prejudices - and will latch onto ANYTHING that supports the society's view, no matter how much evidence there may be against it (evidence against does not count because she will not voluntarily read that).

I can't really blame her, as that is exactly what I used to do. I actually remember thinking to myself that I have to be very careful about what I read because if it causes doubts then it is just wasting my time. I bought a book about the dead sea scrolls once, but I threw it away because it talked about the textual evidence of how the theology of Christianity evolved in the first century. Jesus was promoted from being human in Matthew to having had a pre-human existence in John. I then began to notice that it was true - all references to Jesus having been God's son in heaven before coming to earth are later than the first 3 gospels. I eventually found a verse in one of the minor prophets (can't remember where exactly) which spoke about the Messiah being from time immemorial or something, so I reasoned that the pre-human existence of Jesus was not invented by John. I figured that all the time I spent stewing over it was wasted, so there is no point continuing to read such material.
