Hi Cacky,
I've got a copy too of the dvd but have only watched the first few minutes so far.
I've so far seen that they have the gb members do the narrating of it.  I saw Herd was in on the first one and I forgot who the second was.

I'll probably watch it sooner or later I guess but what you said sounds pretty much what they would do.  No mention of anything that would cause the society any remote controversy....

I picked up too on how the dvd started-----The dvd said that the Jehovah's Witnesses are the oldest religious group out there----6000 years old....  They forgot to mention that they are one of the newer religious groups out there....

There was no talk about how 1914 was "the generation" that would not pass away. Not one mention of it.
They have short memories on lots of stuff don't they?  The list keeps getting longer too...

But there was lots of pushing persecution and the need to preach.
I expected them to highlight their persecution..
Whenever they talk about past history, that part always seems to get real extensive coverage.

No wonder average jws are so mixed up on past history of the org.  They are never presented with any of the group's problem issues.
And, they are told they can't research it unless it comes from pro-witness sources (preferably only the 'official' WT channels.....)

Edit: Oh, they also really went overboard on how they were the first, with the photodrama of creation, to combine motion pciture with sound, and how it wasn't done commercially for ten more years after they did it. What's that got to do with scripture?!
I guess they ran out of other positive things to talk about.....lol
After all, the list isn't that long imo...

I can sorta remember when our circuit overseers came around one time back decades ago----on one of their visits they were showing a history type film on the last day of their visit.  I think a lot of what you said, including that last point about motion pictures with sound was talked about then also in that film they showed....

Anyhow, thanks for the review Cacky....
I'll probably see it, but I'm not going to be in a hurry....
