Some people leave BECAUSE of the other people ... because of the hierarchy and the way the interpretations vary from the biblical scriptures themselves Wondering. My dad for example ... has quite an understanding of the bible as HE reads it. He has always found that many of the elders and others who are sitting in the higher chairs of authority ... add their own personal or collective borg slants on 'the truth' and what constitutes 'the truth'.

I left the borg myself without ever having the faith that I was raised and programmed to believe. It just wasn't there and I found it doubly hard to work out why I wasn't 'blessed' with that love for Jehovah that when I was younger I would have said I had! For me ... it was walk out ... have a glance at other religions from a distance, check out alternatives .... and I still ended up where I started. No belief in a god or gods!

It is perhaps just too soon for you to try and find that path in life yet Wondering. Same for your lovely Droplet too. You're in an awkward position of being stuck where you are living for the moment ... but once you have your own house and your own personal freedom to think and talk freely without fear of someone getting upset ... you both may have very different viewpoints to what you have even now! There is no prerequisite to leave the borg and become an atheist ... just as there is nothing wrong to doing that if it's what suits you. Life is ultimately what we choose to make of it ... warts and all.
