"That's too bad, but you are a really nice person".

It is so sad that people like your friend (or soon-to-be former friend?) have that negative, one-eyed attitude.    Again it's that fear of outsiders that the WBTS have instilled with their own members.    Saying something negative or even asking a simple question is enough to have people like us excommunicated.    It must be so tiring being so perfect all the time!

I remember telling my family that I was still the same me ... just without the religious side.   It took me a few months to get the message across but it was worth pushing the point.    I WAS the same me.    I didn't wake up the next morning as a totally different person just for walking out of the meeting the night before ... I woke up the same old me.    Still cheeky, still talkative, still loved my family and my friends.    The only difference was I no longer went to jdub meetings.

It's a shame that religious differences can stop friendship and split families isn't it InspecterD.   Maybe she will have a change of heart ... although she did come up with the standard para-phrases and answers.
