I know a couple of born-ins around my age (late teens, early twenties) who I'm pretty sure are gay, but either don't realize it yet, or if they do, would never let anyone know.
Daughter Punk (zealous JW), goes out on occasion with a Brother that she really likes.

I am convinced he's gay. No way can a bloke be that camp and think that's OK for a non-gay.

Now, I don't care if he's gay or not.

What I DO care about however, is if he's leading Daughter Punk on to mask his non-JW feelings. I'd prefer he 'comes out', I wouldn't shun him when he gets persecuted by the Jdubs with their usual witch hunt mentality.

Some interesting takes on the JDub categories!

PHR with the 'submarine' JW's that surface every now and then (usually for the circus over-sneer).

Yammer with the 'one size fits all'.

........and the interesting BC thing!!

O...M...G....my sister is married to one of these. My parents are secretly appalled but true to JW form, his being a JW trumps all.

I don't care if he's gay or not either......I feel the same way you do. I can't do anything but keep my mouth shut and SMH. I do worry about her, a lot.

I have a cousin who is in.....was born in and I'm pretty sure he is gay also. He's been in all his life; he gives talks and stuff too. All his JW friends are also gay. And yes, they are also very spiritual, read-Watchtowers-onstage-on-Sundays sort of guys.

...but nobody ever knew of any of those transient "submarine JWs'"?? Surely I can't be the only one who knew of this type of JW?

To be honest, when I was a JW, I envied them--at the time, they seemed to have the best of both worlds. Just show up at the KH whenever the f*ck you felt like it; probably allow the kids a lot more freedom with school activities and holidays; rarely (if ever) go out in field service; get to hang out with your large, close-knit non-JW family whenever you wanted.

All without nary a peep from the Hounders--none. Oh yes, I was very envious.smiley: frown

Before my youngest sister got married (still a teen) she used to get flak from my parents all the time when her friends would invite her to the many (MANY!!!) family reunions and cookouts they'd have every summer. These folks were "submarine JWs" so too much "association" with them outside of the KH was too much for my parents to cope with smiley: eyes
