When I was growing up I remember a lady in my Congregation who partook and declared she was 'remenant', she must have been in her thirties, she was single, dressed in secondhand outdated clothes (today we'd call it 'Vintage chic' ) etc. She was a pioneer and to her face everyone was all reverent and respectfull of her position in the Congregation, but behind her back they would make fun of her and call her mental etc, I always felt rather sorry for her as she so wanted to be liked and accepted.
