dude, I think the problem that a lot of posters see is that overall, where has this religion led people? To me, it is a serious claim to say that "we" are the only channel of truth to the nations, and anyone not associated with us will die at Armageddon.  Of course, those are not the exact words used by the Society, but there are enough words used by them to imply, hint at, and lead one to believe that that is the case.

I agree with you that just about anyone can find something "positive" about anything.  But when a person has bought into this religion lock, stock, and barrel, it can leave a person with not much motive to find anything positive about it.  Again, it is a serious claim to say that it is the "truth" and the only way to eternal life.

Imagine tens of thousands of people sitting before a speaker and hearing something like this and believing every word that comes out of the speaker's mouth:

Shortly, within our twentieth century, the “battle in the day of Jehovah” will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom. The ancient “soil of Israel” pictures the realm in which Christendom has operated. It pictures the standing and relationship that Christendom has claimed to occupy with God by means of his “new covenant” of which Jesus Christ is the mediator. Now is no time for anyone in Christendom to rely on any righteousness on the basis of his own merits and to boast of his own self-righteousness. Jehovah’s “sword” of warfare will cut off from this position that Christendom’s clergy claim for her all religionists who depend upon her having an acceptable standing with God.
So again, I want to know: When did this battle in the day of Jehovah begin? In what way did Jehovah's "sword" cut off any position at all?
