Yes Sugar - that family of 7 was actually 8, but the oldest daughter had moved out and wasn't a Witness. The family decided to adopt 4 children, 3 siblings from an abusive family in Russia and an infant from Asia who became one of my best friends growing up. I spent a lot of time around this family, and they are probably some of the nicest, most compassionate people I've ever met. Although they were Witnesses they were always very balanced. Unfortunately, life has not been kind to that family. They've had a lot of problems, the recession has not been kind to them in the least. Thankfully they have a big family now that can help them, and an older son who has never married is helping to support them.

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.' They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
