hey Wingnut! Imagine standing out doing streetcorner work with me trying to catch up on our hours on the 4th weekend of the month, and everybody looking at us like we were freaks and walking off muttering. And checking our watches, sweltering in our suits and eyeing up the donut shop across the street... but knowing full well that we have to put in another hour after coffee time lest we be judged.

Do we have a 'common bond' now? You bet your life we do. Okay, so lets go for beers, or to watch the sprint cars run on clay at Skagit Speedway. You live where? Oh man, that's 3000 miles from here! Damn.

Great post. Sorry you are feeling down but your observations are quite correct (in most cases!) But I've cobbled together a few worldly friends in my time... not enough but some.... go volunteer at the race track (or whatever floats your boat) , sure fire winner for making friends out of jaded older people who are set in their ways but who share common interests.

Regards

Tim
