Congratulations on your first day of school. I'm a junior now, and I can promise you that if there's one day when it's okay to kinda zone out it's the first. Most of the things discussed in your classes will likely be on your syllabus, like the readings, when major exams and the mid-term are, etc. Make sure to hang on to these you will reference them multiple times throughout the semester. I can't believe you're starting college so young, I was completely overwhelmed my first semester at 18, plus I had leaving with the Witnesses to contend with. Good for you for being so emotionally strong, and smart enough to figure out things about the JW's while you were being home schooled. What is your major? Do you plan to eventually go to a 4 year school? What's it like being a child brainiac?

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.' They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
