After watching Nevermind's posted video here from the late great Carl Sagan and as well as Stephen Hawking and Arthur C. Clarke (its older) i thot i would ask you all here.

Now, it is beyond my comprehension to believe there is no other life and civilizations out in the cosmos but i m wondering how you all feel about it and if so do you believe we have now or in the past ever been visited by any?
Right , my answer to this is this. There may well be life out there it might not have evolved to the same level as has the lifeforms on earth.

However if lifeforms have also evolved to that level then they would also need to be able to maintain life and skills to the level that can live for aeons. We cannot successfully leave our solar system and remain alive. The distance and time required for such a journey involved prohibits us with in a lifetime to power of a lot ( yes - very mathematical number is a lot).

We could in theory breed generations to man ships but then that requires people to breed children with the same aptitude or higher than the parents. They also need to meet the requirement and same skills or higher to navigate , repair and maintain such technology etc etc and successfully generation after generation.

The parents also need to be capable teachers to impart this knowledge generationally. Particularily in the areas of the maths lfor the understanding of calculations (physics and the like).

That is a huge ask and it is also random as to how that would proceed imo.

That is likewise a huge ask for that in return there is a logistical problem with traveling vast distances and maintaining life with the current constraints that we know of for ourselves.

It is also not known if humans died out tomorrow and other mammals that we would be replaced in future generations from the remaining species to have equitable populations of animals and be able to operate with the same level or higher intelligence etc etc.
