Hi.

To answer if i had success directing my therapy at the start - no.

It's really good to see you have support lined up.

Don't worry about not having a plan of action, after all if you actually knew where to start and how to go about it then you wouldn't feel the need to reach out for help. Just go with your feelings on this, know that your feelings tell you that you do need help and you do not need to know where to start and that it is o.k. to feel like this.

When i first started going, i felt like other people deserved to be there more than me and i would only allow myself to go every two weeks instead of every week. It took me a while to understand i had every reason to go every week. I had no clue how counseling worked and no clue what i should or should not say. All i can say is just go with how you feel, your therapist will have to get to know you and you to get to know them. It takes time for that to happen, time for you to feel more comfortable with your session and hopefully you will feel better about yourself reagrding your cooperation to therapy.

You're starting an exciting and hopefully rewarding journey, best wishes.
