Sad to say, but blame and denial is nothing new for the WTBTS. Years ago in one of the JW Yearbooks [Remember which year it was?] they blamed some overly enthusiastic followers of running ahead of the Organization, making the assumption that this system of things would end in October, 1975. Of course that ignored their own 1966 publication, "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" which, on page 29 and 30, states:

"According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975 C. E.. So six thousand years of man's existence on earth will soon be up, within this generation... How appropriate it would be for Jehovah God to make of this coming seventh period of a thousand years a sabbath...the reign of Jesus Christ..."

It's always fascinating for me to read the questions meant to lead the thinking of those who reading their publications. Here are the questions to be answered on those paragraphs:

"41. (a) A careful study of Bible chronology made in this twentieth century points to what year for man's creation?
       (b) So according to that chronology, when will six thousand years of human existence end?
42.  From the standpoint of Jehovah God, how long has man's existence been?
43.  What act on God's part would be most timely for mankind and most fitting in the fulfillment of Jehovah's purpose?"

If  you answered those questions, you could not miss 1975. It was neither your calculations nor your imagination.

See it? Twice, in short order, this single publication of the WTBTS identifies 1975 as the "fitting time" for Jesus 1,000 year reign to begin. What else was there to make of their statements?

I see only one conclusion to be drawn from what the WTBTS prophesied about 1975 before that date, and what they are saying about it now that it is clear they were wrong. They are false prophets. Not only are they false prophets, but they excuse themselves by blaming others--their faithful followers and the apostles!

Keep in mind that this is the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, claims to be "Jehovah's only channel of communication" and the "Faithful and Discreet Slave". Do their actions support such claims? Ask yourself, if I hadn't been raised as a JW, would I be able to trust anything they say? Come on! They misled us. Did God mislead them?  Is the Governing Body really hearing from and speaking for Jehovah's at all?  Or are those part of the lie? What do you think?
