I was waiting for Armageddon to hit in 1975. It was a scary lead up as Tim pointed out. From 1968 (I was six) the constant references to the world ending, to persecution, torture, rape, injuries, death etc continued to escalate. Not all speakers were as frightening as others and I guess it depended on the local elders of the halls we all grew up in ... but the images were graphic, the content of the talks themselves were graphic ... NOT something I'd subject little kids to at all. The fear mongering was a wretched way to treat children and adults for that matter.

Jack ... you're among the un-converted here mate. Comparing scriptures isn't something we all enjoy doing these days ..... less so for someone like me who believes the bible in its entirety is a man-made form of control ..... but thanks for sharing your thoughts.
