You make some good points jackblack.

Leaving the org made me look at every aspect of my life. I had to learn to question authority with the WTBS, to leave mentally from the cult. Applying that same approach to each and every other religion persuaded me that all other religions were the same. I guess I became a "I believe in Jesus kind words, but don't know where to worship".

Later on I discovered that evolution answered many of my questions whilst being totally open to scrutiny, and actually invites you to question it. Although bringing about its own dilemmas (when I'm dead I'm really dead???!!) I know live my life trying to be good, for me, not to please some sky God for the chance of everlasting life.

If there is a God, doing good for myself and not to please anyone else should be more moral than doing it under duress :\ So perhaps losing sight of the Bible isn't as catastrophic as you may think.

You also bring up a lot of good scriptures. Yes, the WTBS can be disproven from its own Bible. Why nobody questions John chapter 1 I don't even know!
