DMT. I had the opportunity to smoke DMT once a few years back and it was INTENSE. It's effects didn't last very long, maybe 10 or 15 minutes but during that time I was catapulted on a trip to another dimension. It was so vivid and incredible.

Haha! When I tried it, I went into a underwater lake. My friends leg who was sitting near me became a coral reef and I quickly went from seeing his leg as a coral reef to being totally immersed in water and losing all touch with the feelings of gravity and reality. Then, the sudden comedown back to reality made me really gasp for air like I was being pulled out of water.

It did make me question heavily our perceptions of the world though. Its so easy to escape into our brains and leave the real world behind. Perhaps, this is where the spirit world was dreamt up. Or, perhaps it is really there and this world is the hallucination. We rely so much on our eyes for information, but the world is no less amazing for a blind person.

I would imagine many of the Bible stories have been inspired by heavy drug use. Drugs were part and parcel of shamans and soothsayers lives for thousands of years. We all know how religions borrow off each other. Perhaps Jesus just smoked too much Arabian hashish then got lost in the desert and had his meeting with Satan atop the mountain :D

Most stories have basis in real life, whether its warped drug induced real life or the real life crazy stories of a madman. Chinese whispers do the rest.
