Welcome! Yes, I have lived what you described. When from a generations deep jw family, the groupthink is so strong that one automatically suspects that there is something wrong with oneself for leaving the group.

After overcoming that, one wants to prove what one has learned, but hits brick walls that threaten any further relationship with family if one threatens in any way their positions. After bouncing off these brick walls one becomes angry at the organization that controls their thinking.

Attempts to explain what is happening to outsiders (worldly people) are treated with disbelief and blank stares.
