I already started my Christmas shopping! I can't wait! This year my hubby, me and our son will be celebrating in Central America. Our daughter is a grade-school teacher there. My first Christmas since I was nine years old was in 2011. We went to visit our daughter then too. Her boyfriend was so sweet! He put up a beautiful Christmas tree just for me.

Rhon, I get what you are saying. Christmas is different when it is warm where you are. In my daughter's country they dress up like super heroes and dance in the public squares! It's the spirit of community and the joy of being with loved ones that counts.

Here in the States I have to tone it down as others have mentioned. I don't want to get DF'd  yet. Holding off until the JW in-laws (87 years old now) are out of the picture. They shun my hubby and kids, but hubby doesn't want to cut off the last little bit of contact through me. Sigh. So, at home I can't put up lights or decorations just yet, but I do go with a sparkly winter theme!

Can't wait to see my grand dogs for Christmas!

The 14th-century Persian poet Hafiz wrote:

Every child has known God,

Not the God of names,

Not the God of don'ts,

Not the God who ever does anything weird,

But the God who knows only four words,

And keeps repeating them, saying:

"Come Dance with Me."

Come Dance
