My mom 'studied' for a couple of years with a woman who claimed to be raped by demons regularly. My mom said it was because she had dabbled in tarot and ouija boards (what normal person has never had the slightest contact with what the JWs call 'spiritism'?)

Looking back, the woman was psychotic and living with an abusive man, and was probably continuing a cycle of physical and sexual abuse that started when she was a child. She desperately needed a doctor, not someone to 'scare-monger' and reinforce her delusions. My mom, by reinforcing her fears and validating the whole 'demon-rape', likely prevented the woman from getting help for a period of a couple of years, which is long enough to do permanent brain damage to a psychotic. And yes, this was in the height of the demon and demon-smurf craze of the 70s, I'm sure my mom was basing her own fears on stuff like that article, and the numerous 'first-hand' reports at assemblies.

I hope she's proud. I asked her about it this year, she still defends what she did and maintains that the woman was possessed.:anger
