That has happened to me too on the sleep thing. We actually had a post a long time ago about it and found out that it was more common than I thought.
I may be telling you wrong, but I think they call that "sleep paralysis"?? I am not sure of the name, but someone can correct me if I am wrong.

The best way I can describe it is that I am conscious of what is going on around me to an extent, but cannot move. Almost like being in a coma. Usually I force myself to move or wake up but it can be a little scary.

Nope, it is not demons... It happens to me maybe a few times a year is all and once I read that it had an explanation medically and that it is actually common, it was a relief.
