accessing the internet will be a DF offense?

It already is, sort-of. People have been summarily df'd for asking their elders about the UN scandal. Presumably the only way they could have found out about the UN scandal is by visiting an anti-JW website.

Quite a few have been df'd for visiting sites such as this one, even if they don't make waves within their congregation, also. There are JW spies who spend considerable time infiltrating these sites, looking for people who give out sufficient personal information that allows them to be identified. Some members of this very forum have been identified by these spies, and threatened by family members, even though they were already df'd. And we've had several members leave after they were reported to family and/or authorities.

Well, at least the JWs aren't murdering dissenters (yet).

Richard, I was going to write up a big opinion on the legal issues over the quotes website, but the fact there are so many mirrors up and running makes it a moot point. In fact, the best defense against their persecution is to make multiple mirrors and publicise their frivolous and abusive lawsuit. Good job. Their first line of offense is to threaten your ISP, and threatening an ISP over a site that publicises abusive lawsuits is clearly a free speach issue. Even the Scientologists had to give up on that one, it just isn't worth the bad publicity.

Russell himself could have explained that to the current JW cult-leaders, he got his ass kicked in court right here in Canada. Pity this case couldn't be brought to court, I think the judgement would have been scathing (against the abusive WTBTS). Something like this, or rather the testimony in court, could even have affected the WTBTS's tax-exempt status in Canada. *sigh*

We need a Canadian ACLU.
