"But what really surprised me was the way my mum was SO excited about this announcement! She said to me "so, it's all happening!" When I asked "what's all happening?", she said "well, it just goes to show that the end is closer than ever!". I had to laugh. Bless her. "

This seems to be the same response I've been hearing. How does dropping the book study make the end nearer? They also said this when they shortened the public talk last year. If the WT announced that they were closing their doors because they have run out of money, the JWs would just show that as more "proof" that the end is near.

All those that are weak in "da truff" will not get that spiritual help at the book study anymore. And they will start to miss meetings ect. The elders will start to lose control over the congregation
. It was usually my book study conductor who contacted me when I started missing meetings. So yes. Personally, just my hypothosis, the Organization is moving away from helping inactive ones to dealing only with the flock. For the last few years, the WT has focused a lot on helping those who are inactive. However, all I have heard from most (but not all) elders is nothing but contempt for those who become inactive.
