Hey Amanda,
I will try to think of some possible stories to share. At least maybe the more mild variety.

Yes, hopefully some others wish to share also.

I haven't figured all this out by any means....I am guessing the issues with self-esteem and/or self-confidence along with other issues have at least something to do with how quick the person gets to a good emotional maturity level. Age might play a role, but I have seen some emotionally mature 20 year old's and some emotionally immature 50 year old's.

But I do know that if there is substance abuse going on, then any emotional growing or maturing generally stops until the substance abuse stops...

my 2 cents worth for the moment....

Edited to add:
I liked your post Cee Cee. I am having to watch the resentment thing with my current boss. I am just glad I have a few days off, but I remembered about the resentment idea too...

For those that don't know, HALT is an acronym for
H--Hungry
A--Angry
L--Lonely
T--Tired

Those are the times that a person with substance abuse issues has to watch it---if they get too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired.
Best to take care of the HALT issue first before doing anything else.....
