A good read there Varg!

Having a mother who knowingly and willingly refused to have a blood transfusion based on all the usual scriptures ... then backed up by the usual hangers-on who rock up at the local hospital ostensibly as a show of 'support' ... the whole bible-based reason for NOT having what could well be life-saving treatment defies belief in my eyes!

My mother DID survive and has lived to tell the often told JW 'tale' that blood transfusions are NOT always necessary to save life. She was very lucky not to have died. It had nothing to do with support from her chosen God or from the hangers-on making sure she didn't crumble at the last moment. She could well have died and left behind a loving husband and four young children. Did she make a conscience driven choice to abstain from accepting a blood transfusion? I don't believe so. I believe it was a decision she felt compelled to make ... more so when the hangers-on were surrounding her!

Whatever scriptures the JW's use are merely interpretations of what they feel should be added ... from a book already interpreted time and time again!
