I don't have a Bible available, but a few other scriptures come to mind.

When Jesus was healing on the sabbath, he was accused of violating the sabbath laws. Jesus mentioned that when David and his men were on the run, they were hungry and ate the temple bread, which would have normally earned a death sentence. The point was, sometimes, especially when life and death are involved, even God is willing to put his laws aside.

Would a God of love really want you to die, or let you children die just to prove your faith in him? In the O.T. it says that the people were burning their children as a sacrifice to God. He then says such a thought never came into his mind. For JW's, the ultimate sacrifice is to die for refusing blood.

Yeah, the blood issue really started to bother me. The truth is, I think more JW's have had blood than we can imagine.
