I've been thinking a lot lately about the JWs and their cognitive dissonance on the Evolution thing.
Here is an email from my daughter that I'm posting with her permission, because of the comments she made on the attached article:
I read this article today. It's awesome. The thing that really got me was the Cartesian Dualism; the mind and brain are divided into material and immaterial, and much too complex for our puny mindbrains to conceive. How many times have we read the disclaimer that everything is just too complex, and we better just leave that up to Ole' Jehovah? Of course, their agenda isn't quite hidden, but all the same.
Down with the JoHo's!!
This was her response to me when I asked her if I could post that on the forum:
Go for it. New Scientist is hilariously notorious for bashing the creationists, most likely backlash from being called "Darwinists" by fundamentalists. I love that they say another word for "Darwinists" is "Biologist." Brilliant. It's like when people call me "Crazy," I know they really mean "Artist" or "Writer."
Postscript: I used to be proud of my kids for auxiliary pioneering during school breaks.
Now radical campaigning against the JWs really tugs mom's heartstrings!
