Would like to thank Mybrainhurts for the following assistance and links :-)
If you have a virus, malware, or spyware, I recommend the following software.
Turn off your System Restore - Right click My Computer, Properties, System Restore, check the box to turn OFF System Restore. Viruses can hide the backup files.
CleanUp! Does not remove viruses but it does clean out all your temp files where some viruses do hide. http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=70
Trojan Remover - Finds most malicious viruses and software. http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - Cleans Malware and does find some viruses. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
SuperAntispyware - Mostly finds adware, but will find other malicious software as well. http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
I usually run them in that order. I am able to clean up 90% of the workstations I work on with just those four tools. For the nasty viruses I have to dig deeper. By the way, these are all free utilities. Trojan Remover is a 30 day trial so it will ask for a key if you try to run it after 30 days. At that point your system should have removed the virus so it is safe to uninstall Trojan Remover.
Thanks for the help on this
