I just read the book Fatal Innocence, about the murder of James Bulger.
I got an e-mail a few months ago and became basically obsessed over this story. I ordered the book and when I got it, I read it over a couple of evenings and I'm so moved and disturbed by this story. Part of me wants to re-read the book just to be once again at the part of the book where James was still alive.
It seems like everyone involved was a victim, and there came a time when it was believed that keeping the murderers behind bars would serve no further purpose and they were released. Everyone has had to just move on...except for James who paid the ultimate price.
When I hear stories such as that one, my faith in God is shaken. I think of that story about the sister who was in field service and was protected by two angels and wonder how a loving God could let something like this happen.
I know this is probably a very emotional topic and I know not everyone will want to partake in a discussion on this but I'd like to hear your thoughts on this .
