The anger within... |
Lead | |
|
I haven't been around much as every time I come back to this site, I get all fired up and get angry. I am still around and seem to log in at least once a
day, read something stupid that the witnesses are saying or doing and then I flip out and log off. I hope everyone is doing well and don't take my terse
comments to heart. I am just a little more blunt than usual these days. See Ya around!

Brain ... it can be like that when visiting forums like this. It's not unusual and totally normal to be upset at what the JW religion has done and will
continue to do to seemingly everyday folk. The stories of others can make some of our own personal experiences resurface ... so don't stress too much. Just
visit when the mood takes you ... and log out when it doesn't! We've all been in a similar place to where you are right now ... chin up buddy

Know what you mean!! As Andria said, we have all had periods where the whole JW relentless crap is just overwhelming...............
Luckily for you - there are no 'minimum' hours required here
- so long as we know that you are ok feel free to 'use and abuse' lol!!
I don't know about you, but one of the things that does get me down sometimes, is the feeling that the whole organisation is 'indestructible'................... sometimes it feels like the JW's are so obviously only interested in mind control, that they will be outed for what they are..............then you read about the latest publications or convention.................and realise that the same old dogma is being regurgitated, and gobbled up by the grateful brainwashed!! Hugs Sam xx Hope today is one of your more positive days

I understand what you are saying Brain. I still get somewhat angry at what I read people have experienced, and still are, due to being involved
with the JW's. Yet I feel more sadness now than anger. I also feel happy when I see people healing from their tragedies, and become free.

Considering what the JWs have treated me over the last 9 years or so. I should feel angry.
Especially recently with my JW daughter getting married. But in a strange way, I don't, I feel a deep sorrow that some good people are being deceived and controlled by that organisation. Everything I hear or read about JWs , I keep in mind, or sometimes keep on file, for use later. My main purpose is not to convince some JW they are wrong, though I do try to sometimes, if any of them decided to talk to me. My main purpose is to let non-JWs know about the JWs. I have found that there is a total lack of knowledge about JWs amongst the great majority of people. I've asked many people what do they know about JWs. Answers are usually along the lines of "They knock on doors preaching" "They try to sell you those magazines they have." "They don't have blood" (Sometimes I get "they don't go to doctors") "They don't celebrate Christmas/birthdays." (Though many people don't seem to know that one) Usually after that people are at a lose to what else they believe. Strange really because according to the Watchtower, people are frightened about what JWs preach and everyone is talking about them all the time. So I try to explain what they would have to give up if they became a JW. What would be expected of them, and they would have to do. Some do want to know more about JW teaching and doctrine. I try to explain the culture and thinking of JWs. I use my own experience of what happened to me. Only the other day I told a workmate about my daughter getting married. He could not believe that I was not able to have any part in her wedding etc. Its an example how I use what the JWs do, against them. There may be a bit of anger, especially when people are hurt, but what good is any anger. If I can stop some person becoming a JW that is good enough for me. |

I see that your brain is in pain. I feel the same way, but my anger is slow and smokey, not quick.
Just take it easy. Come on when you feel you can.
I don't believe in slaughter and I don't believe in hate
I can't believe from paper your way of life you take I can't believe this son of a bitch chooses himself over billions I don't believe he cares about repentance...he won't spare anyone I can't believe that he thinks he is holy and his name we should laud I don't believe in the WTBS and I don't fucking believe in G-O-D. |

NEWS FLASH TO JWs: Nobody really gives a $hit. Honestly, it's only the people who have been members who have a loathing of their doctrine and culture. So self-important and deluded are they that they believe the entire Bible is all about them. Egotism on such a grand scale. I see people I love, people in my own family buying into it all, getting all worked up about the "end of this system" and I am less mad than I used to be... now I feel pity for them. If and when any of them ever do figure it out, at least they cannot be pissed at me.

To right Yammer
So self-important and deluded are they that they believe the entire Bible is all about them. Egotism on such a grand scaleI always think about the "Revelation Climax" book. For centuries people have wondered about the book of Revelation, many, many books written on it. Then along comes the Watchtower , and what do you know! The book of Revelation is all about them! Practically every verse has been twisted to mean something the Watchtower either has done, is doing or will do. I recall how they said that the seven trumpet blasts in heaven, represented seven conventions held in the 1920's. In Cedar Point, Ohio, USA if I recall rightly. Conventions so insignificant that they had to pay newspapers to report them, and print the main talk by Rutherford. Probably full of teachings they no longer believe now. I think we went through this book about 8-9 times when I was in. Practically became a yearly thing to do. The reason they gave was so that "new ones" would get to know it. So 6 million had to go through it again, just because of a few thousand. It was a case of indoctrination, so JWs would become so convinced that everything that has occurred and will occur is all about them. Give them the feeling that, Yes! the Bible is all about them, and they have the "truth". The other thing the Watchtower goes on about is how frightened the "clergy of Christendom" are of them. Well, going by those clergy I have met these past few years, they don't give JWs a second thought. Most are to busy running their own churches to worry about what the JWs are up to. Going by my own Pastor , far from being "frightened" he would take them on any day. I watched a program on "Mind Control" the other day. For examples they used "Meade Ministries" and "House of Yahweh" The words, phrases, and style so similar to the Watchtower. Both claiming to be the only "true religion" , God chose us, everyone else is false, nowhere else to go, family and friends are all evil, leave us and you die etc etc. |

I used to read some of this stuff and become furious. Now I read it and it just makes me realize how fortunate that I made the right choice when I did. I
still have days when Im angry that I wasted so many years , didnt live my life as I would of really liked but how they wanted me to. I apologize to my children
for raising them the same way. They say its OK you only did what you thought was the right thing. I dont hold it against my mother either, I guess she also
thought it was the right thing. I also feel sad that Im 51 and have to start from scratch deciding what I believe, what is the real truth, how Im going to
live the rest of my life, and find new friendships. I find comfort in this forum that others have dealt with the same things and can relate. We all have come a
long way. In time the anger goes away . I try to look forward and not let them take away what remains of my life. (Holding onto a grudge is like drinking
poison and hoping the other person dies.) Dont let them do that to you.
Sorry Free - I deleted your double post - and also edited this one to delete a 'rogue' emoticon :-) Sam

I know what you mean Mybrain. Mine is more not so much anger as sadness and depression but I had to stop coming
here because it also takes so much time and such a big effort to glue our lives back together, that it leaves very little time for posting here. I think many
of us find that. Now that I have ducked back in after a long absence I find a whole list of new names I do not know and I am convinced that the average
duration of posting on this board is not very long maybe one to two years. For a long time I helped others to learn what I had found out and then I had to let
go. Ronnie runs a great board here and wave after wave of newbies land here and get healed - the chain is notbroken when we leave.

Probably not an issue for any of our readers, BUT--
Just to clarify for any who might be wondering what the 'rouge emoticon' meant--- (where Sam mentioned the edititing on post #9 of this thread): In short, it was a slight formatting error that occured when I was showing Sam how to add new smilies/emoticons from the admin. panel on yuku.... I am usually pretty detail oriented, but forgot to mention one step in how to add emoticons and that caused a formatting issue with an emoticon that was due to admin. error (my error). So, the correction was minor but still needed... In the post that freebird made, we had to make a minor edit to correct a formatting only issue. No actual words or text were altered in any way with the post as no doubt freebird can verify. Again, no biggie at all, but I just thought I should explain since it was an unusual circumstance in having to edit a post like that.... |
