My gut instinct would be to say "No!!" -- the reasoning being that one of you might get dragged or guilted back into the religion and then try to drag you back in as well. Case in point, my dad was disfellowshipped when he met and married my mom... He was a normal guy, basically... Then he tells my mom stuff about the religion and one day Witnesses show up to preach at the door.. BAM.. My mom starts a bible study... becomes a JW... drags him back into the organization... etc... and she's still a JW to this day.

In reality, I think it depends on the exJW you've met and the reasons why they left the organization (assuming of course that you have no intention to go back to it yourself). If you have no intention of ever going back to the Borg because of new-found religious convictions, find someone else with that story.... Don't look for the man or woman who just left because they got caught with cigarettes and still has their whole family and all their friends in the religion because they'll likely get guilted back into it or they may just be in a rebellious patch of their lives.

You're also looking at whether the person was born into the borg and that's where all their family & life is or are they a person who just started a bible study later in life and then left when they realised it was just a cult.

Is it profiling? Yes... but in reality, if you find someone who doesn't have a strong personal religious conviction to avoid the JWs, there's a pretty good possibility that they might get guilted back in and then drag you with them or make your life miserable because you refused to go back when they did.

Personally, I married someone with no religious upbringing or interest. He doesn't always understand the things I've gone though but he does appreciate and respect that I was strong enough and smart enough to fight my way out of that situation and find some kind of normalcy afterwards.
