Hi, I was just wondering, is your daughter a baptized jw or is she still studying? And when she initially began to study, did you think to look them up in the
Internet and was or would she have been more willing to listen to things you have learned? I"m just curious because I would think that today with so much
access to computers, most people would want to look them up before becoming too involved. I mean just because people do criminal background checks on someone
before dating them, so thought that if she could have done so early on, she might have been willing to check them out before getting too involved. I'm
sort of surprised when I hear of people becoming jws today with all that is there now on the Internet. Even so, there was a woman around her forties who was
studying and getting ready to get baptized at the cong I last attended. Looking back that surprised me, too. I came in before the Internet, so don't know
how long it would have taken me to listen to their telling me not to research them. I would think it should have been a red flag if someone were told early on
not to research them. I'm not critizing, just curious if there are those out there who would join them without considering looking them up to research
before it becomes too late and they listen to the warnings. Also, we raised our kids in the religion and I am sorry to hear about your daughter and the
problems in dealing with it and with the grandkids. You are right in that many members of the religion are decent people themselves, but it certainly does
attract the bad types, too, those whose personalities like all that control and those that like to control others.
