I have just come across this discussion on a JW-Group on facebook..
I'll let the words speak for themselves. This 'brother' Matt rocks
WHo knows? Maybe he's one of us here?
Matt: I was there...I saw it and touched it...Its in Pennsylvania... Unless there is a different Charles Taze Russell that started the Watchtower... Hmmm...maybe his headstone should be changed then?
(....)
Lisa: @Matt .. Ever since I have joined this group I have been wondering what is your purpose on this website...
Matt: Aww and wow..thank you. I simply found something interesting, and shared it...that's all. No need to stalk.
Lisa: Just remember my brother .. Each of us will render an account for himself to God.. Rom 14:12
Marven: Do not entertain fall witness....
Matt: Love you all!
Eduardo: Wow! one apostate between us, nice hair buddy
Matt: Thank you! I grow it out
and donate it to to an organization called "Locks of Love" They make wigs for children with cancer... It makes me feel good to do that.
Steve: Matt, are you a baptised brother? The reason I ask this question is that some of your statements are unlikely to come from a brother. Regarding your hair, helping people is a good thing, but we do this by means of the ministry, it's their only hope of being helped and saved, and it's the most important work that we should be doing at this time . So I ask again, are you a baptised brother as this site is for brother and sisters to chat from around the world
Matt: Yes I am... I enjoy the fine line of encouraging people to read their bibles, and philanthrophic work as well, as our beloved Christ Jesus did.
Steve: It's just that your choice of words causes me a little concern, your hair would prevent you going on the ministry or being used in the congregation in anyway due to its length. As was using it to help these children, well we only have one work to do as witnesses today, our commission from Jesus the head of the congregation, the ministry!
Matt: I'm saddened by all these responses... We are taught not to judge, and look at this thread. I only posted something that I saw, because it was simply "interesting" I certainly in no way mean to upset anyone, I only wanted to share my experience..that's all. I appreciate your comments Steve, but it doesn't change the fact that I encompass everything I can do to help people, anyway I can. You feel the need to "tell people what to do" when there is more we can do, to simply help people, as Christ did. Clearly, He did more than just the ministry, he helped people in so many ways Im sure than is only recorded in the Bible. I strive to be like Him. Thank you though!!!
Steve: You are not being judged by us, but as witnesses we have to be careful to protect ourselves at this time of the end. But there are standards for brothers which include appearance and dress, as we must look like ministers.
Jesus left us with just one commission, the ministry. All other work should be to support ourselves and families, what's the point in helping good causes when these and it's members will be destroyed on the great day. Matt, ministry, ministry, ministry at all times, let's not waste a single moment of time on worthless things ore causes that have no future at all. Personal DEEP study is also important and would answer the many statements that I read on this group. Jesus help ones to show what the Kingdom would achieve for mankind, his only reason for coming to the earth was to tell people of the kingdom. It's also the only way that You can help these ones!
Matt: I am sorry you have completely not seen my point...only yours Steve. Bless your heart... I dont know about you, but I enjoy helping out children that are fighting cancer, and can recieve a wig to make them feel normal... I'm sorry for you. Yes, the ministry is extremely important, but, as long as we are here on earth, I will do EVERYTHING possible to help my human family, especially our children.
Steve: It's not my point, it's the direction that we are being given at this time. Our family is not the human family, but the worldwide brotherhood of Jehovah's people, and we must for fill our commission to increase this family and help or we can to come to know Jehovah. ALL other causes are a waste of our valuable time, don't feel sorry for me Matt, I get the amazing chance to be on the ministry serving Jehovah as much as I can, and this is the greatest joy and I so enjoy this work helping others out of this world full of things like cancer.
Why don't you read what the publications state regarding use of ones time, the ministry is the greatest joy of all!
It's not wrong helping these children, and I can understand your joy. But do we really have the time to spend on it. What if you spent this time in the ministry, you could end up saving lives, bring hope to people with no hope, joy to ones who have lost their joy in life.
Matt: Again...I have nothing wrong with multitasking,,, Broaden your mind and do 2 things at once...Why are you doing this?? Again...Christ helped EVERYONE!!!
Steve: He helped one yes, but by means of his ministry!
I don't need to broaden my mind with regard this evil world, I'll broaden it with regard to the truth and make sure that at all times I will remain right at the heart of things and not in the danger zone on the edge. We don't have time to multitask, time is so short now and we have been given a commandment and commission and that's the point Matt!
I have now given up full time work as the ministry is so important, so I have broadened my mind to things, but have allowed Jehovah to broaden my mind and I will follow his direction at all times because I love and want to please him so much.
Let's listen to what we are being told and carry out fine works!
Matt: Love you my brother...Ill pray for you.
Steve: Thats really lovely and kind of you Matt, but I don't need you to pray for me, Jehovah takes good care of me. But let's all pray for the Brothers and Sisters in lands where it is difficult to be in the truth and where the work is under ban.
Matt: Absolutely!!!!!!!
