First, I love Matt Second, I couldn't read all through Steve's comments.   All of the same standard BS. And one of my big problems with that org is how they treat others not involved in their religion. There is not one little part of me that believes they do such things out of love but more out of a vengeance and feeling of superiority. Same with hunting down inactive or d/f'd ones to "see how their doing"...it's to see if they need to further exact punishment. And that purely seems out of vengeance because they (we) do not follow them. Again the lack of genuine love for humanity as a whole and the total condition that they have for others makes me wanna choke someone. I usually don't get mad or upset with things cause it just isn't worth it...but this is the kindof stuff I cannot deal with.

Here is an similar example (I have shared it here once before I know): When my dad died he left us a home in a neighboring city and my sister and her husband decided to buy us out so they could makes more $$$ off of it. Anyway, it was sitting empty minus the occassional weekend that they would let some of their friends stay in it to save them the cost of a hotel for the convention or to just have a weekend away. Anyway, I ran a play group for mom's and kid's (set up fun and free or inexpensive things to get mom's and kid's (although everyone was included: dad's, single dad's, grandparents, etc)out and making friends and association. One of the mom's (I had personally know for years at this point) had a baby. Her husband had left her when she was pregnant and she had a two year old as well. The baby was in the hospital in the same town that my dad lived in. Another family in the playgroup had taken the 2 year old so mom could spend her time at the hospital. But the mother had no money for a hotel or anything. No place to sleep or shower. So I asked my sister if this woman , who's infant daughter was so sick in NICU that she did not know if she would die or not, could use the house to shower and take a nap. There was beds and furniture but no valuables in the home at that point. She told me that she and her husband did not feel comfortable letting a non witness use the house. I cried and cried. The lack of love and compassion was overwhelming. No matter what they do, how many doors they knock on, how many people the "study" with, how much time they serve, they will, IMO, never erase the harm that did. My entire opinion of them changed and it really showed me how horrible and inhuman these people can be. They couldn't possibly see these actions as "stumbling"...just protecting themselves. You know that loving group that spends soooo much time trying to "help" others.....that are more worried about their own "salvation" than anyone or anything else.


P.S. They weren't able to sale the house due to the housing market so they lost it to the bank...they paid monthly on it just to lose it in the end so their plan back fired...can't say it hurt my feelings any!

The worst part for me is that so many of them will never realize what they have done or not done. I was born in 73 when both my parents came into the religion. Apparently they were able to "understand" 75 and it's downfalls...unfortunately. But for my 38 years alive it has always been right around the corner. And person after person dies....and this generation will die and never realize what they have done to their loved ones...but also what they haven't done for humanity. The bible says to "Love your neighbor as yourself"....even for me, a non-religious person, this is a good thing! I would rather my neighbor give me a blanket if I am cold, or a bowl of soup if I am hungry, and maybe even a little blood if I am in need. Not a prayer and a pamphlet!! I mean...that's all well and good as a side dish...but what harm is done in being kind to your fellow man? Is that not the best "witness" anyone could receive....again the ass backwardness! The lack of true and pure love is the best "un-witness" I can think of.
