Just heard on steam radio that a newly translated cuneiform tablet tells details from the Babylonian flood legend. An earlier discovery in the 1920s, showed to the horror of believers, that the flood was not a pure Biblical tale. This new text indicates that the animals went in two by two, a detail not previously known outside the Bible. The ark however in this story was circular like a giant coracle. The new text was written about four thousand years ago pre-dating the compilation of the Hebrew Bible by about one thousand five hundred years.
Engineers, it is said, are going to examine the construction method to see whether a giant Iraqi coracle could have been built................. Oh dear oh dear! Can’t they see IT IS JUST A STORY!!!
These texts, including the Bible are the product of the imagination of the culture who told the stories. Like re-makes of films, all the good dramas are passed on down the generations. Why do people get literal with them and fight to the death in trying proving folk tales to be true?
I reckon that the Bible should come with a mental health warning. The Bible is categorically not divine in origin, it is not original and if you base your life on its ideas... you will be very mislead!
